This year’s National Sales Leadership Conference 2015, hosted by the Sales Institute was held on 27th May in the iconic UCD O’Reilly Hall and was a resounding success. The conference theme was “Delivering Growth through People and Innovation”.

Bobby Kerr was the Conference Chairman and did a great job introducing speakers and keeping the event moving at a good pace.

FMI was very proud to have our very own Nicola De Beer as one of the main speakers at the event. Nicola’s presentation titled “Belief Is Half the Battle” and focussed on the vital role leadership plays motivating staff and the tools that are available as well as their practical application in the operation of any business. Nicola’s belief is #AnythingIsPossible once all the right motivating pieces are in place.

Other speakers included;
• Ken Hughes – CEO, Glacier Consulting: The Emerging Consumer – the Digital Native Advance
• Catherine Moroney – Regional Director Dublin, AIB: Multichannel – Optimizing the Digital/People Interface for your Customer
• John Paul O’Reilly – Commercial Director, Tesco Ireland: Customer Focused Innovation
• Michael Cunningham – Chief Commercial Officer, Cartrawler: Delivering Rapid Growth through People and Innovation
• Kevin O’Dwyer – VP, EMEA, Inside Sales, McAfee: Effective Talent Management in a High Performing Sales Environment
• David Smith – Country Director, Diageo Ireland: Growing Leaders
• Keith Stanton – Managing Partner, Votive Leadership: Effective Followership, the Key to Leading a Peak Performing Sales Team

The overall message from the the various speakers regardless of their background; digital, banking, retail or the drinks industry was the importance of the customer – and our universal job which is to make the customer feel good about our product and brand and to deliver a great customer experience.

The audience comprised over 400 delegates coming from a variety of backgrounds and business sectors. It was great to see such a mix of companies and it was a great opportunity to network and meet new people. The FMI stand in the reception proved particularly popular with Dunnes Stores Simply Better products available for sampling and which a great many delegates chose to partake in!

Well done to Colm O’Brien of Vodafone the winning recipient of FMI’s charity donation of €500 for the best tweet for #anythingispossible.
